Tiger Den, Bandhavgarh

Tiger Den BandhavgarhBandhavgarh National Park is located around 195 km off Jabalpur and 210 km off Khajuraho in Madhya Pradesh. Considered as the crown in the wildlife heritage of Madhya Pradesh, Bandhavgarh is known for the Royal Bengal Tigers, cheetals, leopard, gaur, sambhar, and many more faunal species. Bandhavgarh National Park is nestled in the Vindhya mountain range of Central India full of hills and reverines. Though, very small in comparison to Kanha or other parks of Madhya Pradesh, the park hosts almost the same number of tigers or any other wildlife animal. Apart from tigers and leopards, Bandhavgarh is also extremely productive for medium-sized bison herds.

Bandhavgarh came into existence as a national park in 1968 with a core area of 105 sq. km, which was later, extended to include two adjoining sal forests in 1986. Before becoming a national park, it was the game reserve of the Maharajas of Rewa. But due to loss of royal patronage, it remained neglected for a long time until the government declared it a national park to control rampant poaching in the area.

Though this national park is a small and compact one, it is mainly known for its density of the tiger population found here. Amidst this dense flora and fauna we have the TIGER DEN RESORT situated just near the forest stretch complimenting then natural beauty further to suit to the tastes of all the guests.

We are delighted to introduce Tiger Den Resort in the beautiful lush green, and tranquil surroundings of the land of the White Tiger-Bandhavgarh National Park. This resort was conceptualized, designed and now managed by professionals from the service industry. The resort has 18 elegantly furnished luxury cottages. The balcony of the cottages overlooks the marvelous and gigantic hills of the Vindhyanchal range.

Morning is the best of all times in the garden. The sun is not yet hot. Sweet vapors rise from the earth. Night dew clings to the soil and makes plants glisten. Birds call to one another. Bees are already at work.
- William Long good

This quote by William Long good is definitely an inspiring one. And to experience this feeling the day at Bandhavgarh has to begin well. You are woken up just before dawn with wake up call along with a cup of tea/coffee at the designated time (i.e. if you are not already up by some call from the inhabitants of the Jungle of Bandhavgarh ). An open Gypsy awaits you to take you even more closer to the nature and to see the majestic 'Royal Bengal Tiger. We provide some fruits neatly packed and a bottle of mineral water for your 4-hour safari in the jungle.

When you come back from there is running hot /cold water in the attached luxurious bathrooms. Breakfast is served in the Restaurant serving delicious and a rich variety of Indian, Chinese, Italian & Continental cuisine.
